What it does
Archicad is a full BIM authoring tool and the main alternative to Revit for architecture-first practices. It runs natively on macOS as well as Windows, which is often the deciding factor for smaller studios.
Users tend to describe the modelling and documentation workflow as closer to the way architects already think about drawings, and it has been shipping since well before the current BIM era, so the file format and the practices around it are mature.
